History[]

  • Data extracted from the S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Lost Alpha game manual (v1.3003)
  • Typos included for the text. Typos and errors in the properties section corrected to avoid confusion.
  • Contributors who wish to generate specific artifact pages may click through the red-links.
  • The Artifact template may be found here
  • As previously stated, the table below, as reconstructed from the v1.3003 user manual, should be considered as obsolescent for Developers' Cut vaersions 1.4002 - 1.4005.
  • From v1.4007 the entire table was cut from the manual without explanation or comment.

Notes[]

v1.30013+
  • For the commonly occurring 'natural' artifacts (Wrenched, Sparkler, etc.) the player will be offered a price that reflects their standing with the purchaser's faction.
  • Friendly characters will clearly offer more than "truce-enemies".
  • As seen in the Base Game, Sakharov still pays the most even though he is now a Trader.
  • ALL NPCs will offer top money for all of the more esoteric artifacts. Whether they actually have the funding needed for such trades is a different matter.
v1.4002 - 1.4005:
  • Various adjustments to the gamefiles progressively reduced and restricted the player's trading benefits.
v1.4007:
  • Trading benefits comprehensively removed.
  • A there is a simple guide available

Picture Artifact Description Effects
Jellyfish
Jellyfish Is formed in the Trampoline anomaly. Forms a weak protective field whose side-effect is slight radiation. The artifact is widespread and not very valuable.

Radiation +2

Bulletproof Cap +1

Stone flower
Stone Flower Born in the Springboard anomaly. This artifact is found only in a few areas of the Zone. The bits of metallic compounds create a beautiful light play. It is very calming to study this artifact at night by the fire.

Radiation +3

Bulletproof Cap +2

Night star
Night Star This wonderful artifact is formed by the anomaly Trampoline. The use of the artifact demands the neutralization of deadly radiation. Expensive and rare, this artifact is extremely interesting for scientific expeditions and other research activity in the Zone.

Radiation +3

Bulletproof Cap +3

Wrenched
Wrenched Located in the anomaly called "Vortex". When it touches the body it disseminates the directed of radiation, protecting from scratches or wounds made by weapons. This artifact isn't hard to find, that's why they don't pay much for it.

Radiation +3

Rupture +1

Gravi
Gravi Can spot it near anomalies such as "Vortex" or in the hands of another stalker. While wearing it a certain amount of radiation is stored in the body while the rest of it is scattered in the radial direction away from the body. A good price.

Radiation +4

Rupture +2

Goldfish
Goldfish An artifact formed in the Vortex anomaly. Is activated by the heat of the body. Decide what's worse: radiation or knife wounds, and chose the lesser of the two evils. In any case you can sell the artifact for good profit.

Radiation +3

Rupture +3

Droplets
Droplets Formed in the anomaly "Stirfry" at high temperatures. From the exterior looks like a tear-like shade compound with a glossy surface, covered in cracks.

Radiation -5

Endurance -10

Fireball
Fireball Crystallizes in the anomaly Scorcher. Fights well with radioactivity, though the heightened rate of energy exchange wears out the muscles of the moving apparatus. Won't be able to run for long. Artifact emits heat.

Radiation -10

Endurance -10

Crystal
Crystal Is created when heavy metals fall into the Stirfry anomaly. This artifact eliminates radiation wonderfully. It is highly valued by stalkers and hard to find.

Radiation -15

Endurance -10

StoneBlood
Stone Blood You can find this artifact near the anomaly "Merry-go-Round". It is quite an ugly reddish object made out of pressed together and curiously bent polymerized remnants of plants, soil and bones. Quite widespread and not very effective.

Health +5
Impact -5
Bulletproof Cap -5

MeatChunk
Meat Chunk Manufactured by the Merry-go-Round anomaly. Causes increased cell growth. On the other hand, the newly formed cells are much more receptive to the effects of physical uranium. The artifact doesn't show up very often, but it's hard to call it rare.

Health +10
Impact -5
Rupture -5
Bulletproof Cap -5

Soul
Soul Very rarely found artifact, located near the Merry-go-Round anomaly. Only a very few manage to find this artifact, and few have even seen it. It has a nice shape and an equally nice price.

Health +15
Impact -5
Rupture -5
Bulletproof Cap -5

Slime
Slime It is certain that this artifact is created by the anomaly called Stew. When carried on the best, the wounds bleed less, although the body of its owner becomes more vulnerable to various burns.

Bleeding -5
Burn -5
Chemical Burn -5

Slug
Slug Formed by the Stew anomaly. The negative qualities of this artifact are compensated by the fact that it heightens the coagulation qualities of blood. It's not often that one runs into such an artifact, and they pay well for it too.

Bleeding -10
Burn -5
Chemical Burn -5

Mica
Mica Anomaly "Stew" is able to create such an artifact at the rarest, most extreme collection of physical conditions. The result is a semi-transparent, hard object. A rare and expensive artifact.

Bleeding -15
Burn -5
Chemical Burn -5

Spring
Spring According to the opinion of some researchers-theorists, this artifact is a hybrid between Batteries and Pacifiers.

Impact +10

Shell
Shell When wearing this artifact the denaturization of proteins happens slower. In other words, the flesh is able to endure higher temperatures and burns less. In itself it is an expensive and rare thing.

Burn +10

Battery
Battery The origin of this object is shrouded in scientific mystery. It's clear that it's made in part by di-electric elements, but science does not know the physical conditions in which it is formed.

Electric shock +10

Pellicle
Pellicle This artifact is so rare that many researchers can't even imagine that such a substance can exist in a natural setting. Emmits acidic chemical components.

Chemical Burn +10

MamasBeads
Mama's Beads Wonderful artifact. Keep it safe - it's good because it only has positive qualities. Scientists can't figure out how to create such an artifact in laboratory conditions.

Bulletproof Cap +2

Thorn
Thorn The result of the interaction between the anomaly Burnt Fuzz and the body of a careless stalker. The Spiker artifact pokes the body of its owner, no matter what. But it also helps clean the body of radionuliodes. Quite widespread and cheap.

Radiation -5

Bleeding +10

CrystalThorn
Crystal Thorn Crystallizes in the anomaly Burnt Fuzz. Naturally takes out radiation from the organism. That is, through the ears along with some amount of blood. Blood loss is possible also through over openings. Widespread and quite effective, which is the cause for the stable price in the artifact market.

Radiation -10

Bleeding +10

Urchin
Urchin The anomaly Burnt Fuzz very rarely gives rise to this artifact. Blood pressure rises, the body gets rid of a large amount of red blood cells. But along with them the stored radiation leaves the body as well. In his fundamental work titled "Ionization and polarization of the components of rare artifacts", Saharov noted that the content of this formation has critical stability, and it's not realistic to create such an artifact in lab conditions in the next ten years.

Radiation -15

Bleeding +15

Doughboy
Doughboy When you hold this mystery of the Zone in your hands, you feel how your skin becomes tougher and less sensitive. You can still shoot through it with a bullet, but it's much more difficult to cut through.

Rupture +2

Compass
Compass Apart from its positive properties, this artifact seems to react to certain elements present in the Zone. Some say that if handled properly, it can be used as a zone-proof compass.

Bleeding -7
Burn -5

Sparkler Found near the Electra type of anomaly. Quite widespread and inexpensive artifact. But still it is valued among the researchers in the Zone for its qualities. (Encyclopedia entry)

Endurance +5

Electric shock -5

Flash
Flash "Electra" sometimes births this artifact. Stalkers readily use it because of its good qualities. Not a bad price and a good external look make this artifact appealing to collectors. (Encyclopedia entry)

Endurance +10

Electric shock -10

Moonlight
Moonlight Degenerate case of the activity of the Electra anomaly. It seems that such a wonderful round form is created when the anomaly is subjected to thermal influences. Expensive artifact. (Encyclopedia entry)

Endurance +15

Electric shock -20

Snowflake
Snowflake while not being remotely similar to snowflakes to the naked eye, on a microscopic level its whole structure looks exactly like thousands of snowflakes.

Endurance +29

Electric shock -30

Flame
Flame No, this won't hurt you, but it's rather hot. It emits a bigger glow than your average artifact, but that is to be expected with a nature like fire.

Radiation -10
Endurance -9
Bulletproof Cap +10

Bubble
Bubble This heart-shaped artifact secretes a thick mucus-like liquid which, if applied to a desired area, reduces effects of harmful chemicals on said surface.

Radiation +3

Bouquet
Bouquet This bouquet of neatly colored spines isn't the best gift for your love interest, unless you crave for her death.

Radiation +5
Explosion +5
Bulletproof Cap +3

Cuttlefish Icon
Cuttlefish This artifact is far from cuddly. Running your skin on this is the equivalent of a good acid bath, so keep the gloves on.

Radiation +5

Rupture +5

Fungus Icon
Fungus This oddly colored artifact may look dangerous at first glance, but in reality it's a radiation sponge that imprisons it within its jagged shell. But by doing so, it emanates an odorless and colorless gas that, when inhaled, makes bleeding a far more serious medical condition.

Radiation -25

Bleeding -10

BallOfTwine
Ball of Twine Well... this is simply a ball of twine. It looks incredibly fragile and underwhelming, though appearances don't make a good testament to its true properties.

Radiation -10
Bleeding -7
Burn -5
Telepathy +15
Chemical Burn -5

Soother
Soother Tinted by the soft golden color made from its separate composites, the Soother greatly cuts down on the radiation emissions from the Goldfish and NightStar.

Radiation +5
Rupture +3
Bulletproof Cap +3

Quartz

Health +10

Hunger -1

DevilsGuts Icon
Devil's guts Whatever this thing is, it's probably the grossest, most disgusting and puke-worthy thing in the entire Universe. Because of its origins - more specifically, artifacts rumored to be the warped guts of dismembered stalkers - people tend to think of it as a cursed thing. Although it is far from the truth, as the latter influences the body to increase the metabolites of the wearer.

Health +15

Spine The Spine artifact is, by all means, quite flaccid. It stiffens when it makes contact with certain chemical agents.

Radiation +10
Electric shock +10
Chemical Burn +10

Electra Icon
Electra Physically speaking, this is a scientific mystery. The mere reactions from being manipulated in testing are, by Newton's laws, impossible. But hey, this is the Zone...

Endurance +15

Electric shock -5

Gold beads This artifact doesn't have any positive nor negative properties. However, each bead is of enormous value in the Big Land. It is considered to be like a diamond, because of its harmless properties. Authorities overlook its sale in jewelry stores all across the world.
BlueBeads Icon
Blue beads It's a rarity to have an artifact that only holds positive properties, but this one does. If you don't care, this is still worth an enormous amount of money for just one artifact.

Endurance +14

Health +15
Radiation -5
Hunger -1

MercuryBall

Radiation -3
Endurance -5
Rupture +5

Crescent
Crescent This actually smells... quite good! Although, I don't think anyone would try a bite for obvious reasons...

Health +10
Hunger -1
Bleeding -3
Explosion +3

Cake
Cake As this artifact protects you from bullets, your metabolism has certain resources drained which causes food cravings. It has a fitting name!

Hunger +1

Bulletproof Cap +10

Accumulator
Accumulator The accumulator has a neat effect on small shrapnel: it disintegrates it before it can cause any serious wounds. But, like its name suggests, it accumulates something: electricity. When properly stimulated it can harness the ongoing current and unleash it when it cannot be accumulated any longer, in a deadly fashion.

Electric shock -10

Explosion +10

Bagel Icon
Bagel The anomaly Burnt Fuzz very rarely gives rise to this artifact. When you hold this mystery of the Zone in your hands, you feel how your skin becomes tougher and less sensitive. You can still shoot through it with a bullet, but it's much more difficult to cut through.

GreenParasite
Green Parasite This is a "half-product" of an artifact transmutation. Scientists believe that this type of artifact can be used as an ingredient for artifact transmutations but there is no way to confirm that. Further research is needed.
BlueParasite
Blue Parasite This is a "half-product" of an artifact transmutation. Apparently the blue color comes from microbes which interfered with the transmutation process. Scientists believe that this type of artifact can be used as an ingredient for artifact transmutations but there is no way to confirm that. Further research is needed.
