- One unique feature of this rifle (alongside the Balanced IL86) is that it is the only NATO assault rifle that can be rechambered (or simply modified to accept another caliber) to use 5.45x39 ammunition. This is a major advantage over other NATO assault rifles during the early game as 5.56x45 ammunition is rather expensive to purchase, if you can even buy it in mass quantity, while 5.45x39 ammunition is literally dirt-cheap, thus making a modified IL 86 a fantastic weapon to use before the Get the scientists package mission is carried out.
- Can be equipped with the M203 grenade launcher.
- Can be equipped with a Silencer.
- Needs to be upgraded in order to use a silencer from v1.4000.
- Weapon is not changed by the v1.4007 PRM Weapons Pack.
