Get the scientists package is a storyline task that appears in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Lost Alpha.

Overview[]

  • The whole mission is subdivided into three tasks and the second task is further subdivided into three tasks interspersed with a cutscene.
v1.30013 - 1.4002:
v1.4007:
  • Various sub-mission names are modified for no clear reason.
  • Again subversive exploitation is possible by reaching past Doc in the jail cell cutscene.
  • This triggers the Military attack early and the attack may not be as conclusive. This potentially leaves many more Mercenary assets on the board for the player to deal with.

Go to Dead City[]

  • Self explanatory.
  • The player may safely ignore the veiled threat from the Mercs to "approach slowly" and explore the whole level if such is desired priority.

Find the package[]

Meet the Guard[]

  • The NPC is located in the reception cubicle.

Rank increase: +4
Relation increase: Ecologists +50

Meet the Informer[]

  • This character is wearing an Exoskeleton upstairs from the Guard.
  • Entering into dialogue is curtailed when the NPC knocks the player's actor out and reawakens in the interactive "Jailbreak cutscene".

Rank increase: +4
Relation increase: Ecologists +50

Find your equipment[]

  • After being 'rescued' by the Military, the player is tasked with providing cover while Doc makes his escape.
  • The sub-task to locate your missing equipment (which was removed when you were thumped) is also activated and this will resolve when the safe illustrated above is located in the cellars.

Rank increase: +2

Return the package to the scientist[]

All versions:
  • Self explanatory.
  • There are notable looting opportunities available before leaving, as noted on the Dead City page.

Notes[]

  • Completing the mission, with the attendant subset of tasks adds +300 relation points in total as far as the Ecologists are concerned.

Trivia[]

v1.4005:
  • After 'rescue', player gamesaves were disabled until the player left the level, meaning that the player's looting spree could collapse and most of the level would be needed to be replayed.
  • Creating a large 'lootpile' was also pretty futile as the newly introduced game engine "board cleaner routine" would quickly remove these from the board.
v1.4007:
  • Interim gamesaves reactivated.
