Overview[]
- Unique variant of the AKM 74/1 assault rifle, with a non-replacable scope and some upgrades installed.
- Main difference is, beside the scope, weight and price, the limitation to single shots, the significantly reduced dispersion and the pre-installed upgrades 2A and 2C (v1.4005+).
- Only available in the Developer's Cut (v1.4000+).

Notes[]
- v1.4005: One piece can be found in the inventory of the military sniper early in the game. That sniper can be found on the railway bridge in the Cordon (this replaces the Sniper rifle SVDm-2 carried in previous game releases)
- Weapon shoots only semi-auto fire (single shot).
- Scope cannot be dismounted.
- Magnification of the scope is x4 (x6 in v1.4002).
- Weapon comes with default upgrades: +20% Accuracy, +15% Handling.
- It seems neither traders nor stalkers want to buy this particular type of weapon so it's useless to carry more than one.
- (1.4007) Noted bug in the upgrades batch, specifically the parent AKM 74/1 'Scope Mounting' one - comes with an embedded scope, but allows scope-mounting upgrade. If you did upgrade, the scope model would 'disappear', although you can still look through an 'imaginary scope'.
- Fully upgraded it's an amazing weapon, with almost no scope waver even at zero skill, almost no bullet drop at extreme range, and pinpoint accuracy, even with a muffler. Armor piercing rounds will kill even crack Monolith troops with a single shot. In addition, it's light, uses relatively common ammo, and can mount a grenade launcher. The only downside is the lack of automatic fire, which can be a problem against mutants.

- The v1.4007 PRM Weapons Pack changes the name to Sniper AKM.
Trivia[]
- Similar to the AKM 74/1 the upgrade icon is of low quality and uses the wrong texture, additionally it does not show the default scope like the inventory icon.
