Overview

A strange beast that lurks in swampy areas of the Zone. It's a grotesque creature that prowls around on its hands, its lower body a stump without any legs. Due to their lack of humanoid stature and height, they rely on surprise attacks to knock stalkers off their feat and quickly bash in a stalker's skull.

Biology

  • Limited to the areas in or around swamps, marshes, and wetlands.
  • Gregarious, but not known to stray far from their habitat.
  • Unarmoured and easily dispatched with pistol fire.

Notes

  • Has the body and world model of the Poltergeist corporeal form.

Uses

  • No salvageable body-parts up to and including v1.3003.
  • Yields the Swampbeast's nose (from v1.4002+)

Trivia

  • The audible cues for this mutant seem to be very similar to those of the Leviathan aquatic monster seen in Magic Carpet 2 but is far less menacing as an opponent.

Gameplay

  • Just shoot it a few times. Head is obviously best, but any body shot will do significant damage.
